The Clos Saint-Louis unites two contiguous neo-classical buildings built by John Racey Sr and John Racey Jr in 1844 and 1854 respectively. The Racey homes were designed to accommodate families of the colonial elite. These buildings are witnesses of Quebec City's life for more than a century and a half. 158 years of life, work, love, tenderness and hospitality. They were originally family homes, later converted into a boarding house and subsequently converted into a small hotel in 1968. These lovely old homes evoke great passion in their conservative, comfortable and discreet style of the Victorian period. The women who resided there inspire the names given to the guest rooms. Each guest room is luxurious and individually decorated. The fine linen, soft pillows, down comforters, abundant towels and fine toiletries are destined to pamper our guests.
To complete the list of amenities, each room is equipped with cable television, phone with modem connection, hair dryer, secretary, queen size bed and air conditioning.

Rooms destined to the loving workers of the Racey family
The top floor of the building lodged the maids. For the most part these workers were women from the countryside. They arrived at 15 years old and were chosen to serve the family. These remarkable women worked 16 to 18 hours every day, from sunrise until their masters went to bed. Affection, compassion, friendship, love and kindness were the principal characteristics defining these workers who did more out of love than for wages.
Nameless they remain, although their spirit lives on in these rooms. They will impress and delight you.
Two guest rooms with private bathroom, Queen size bed, shower/therapeutic bath, air conditioning, TV/cable and phone with modem connection.
